AI for Mind and Brain

Using AI as a scientific instrument for cognition and the brain

AI has become a powerful scientific instrument, increasingly used to analyze data and accelerate discovery across the sciences. I am drawn to questions that span basic science (how does the brain support language? how do reasoning and decision-making break down?) and applied science (how can computational tools help us understand and eventually support conditions like aphasia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other disorders of language and memory?). I aim to use AI models and algorithms to make progress on both.

Papers

Work in progress — papers in this thread will appear here as they are released. In the meantime, see the behavioral science, mechanistic science, and building better AI pages, or feel free to reach out to chat about ongoing directions.
